Register and edit Profile

  • Register profile using the following procedure.
    1. Click "New" on the toolbar.
    2. Edit the necessary items using the "Register profile" window displayed.
    3. Add using the [OK] button.
  • Edit profile using the following procedure.
    1. Click profile name to be edited.
    2. Perform editing in the "Edit profile" window displayed.
    3. Edit results are stored using the [OK] button.
  • Use the following steps to add a new profile by copying settings made for a profile.
    1. Click "Create by Copying" on the toolbar.
    2. Edit the necessary items using the "Register profile" window displayed.
    3. Add using the [OK] button.
Explanation
Make the following settings in the "Register profile" window.

Profile Name Enter the Profile Name for this profile.
Protocol Select the Protocol to be used by profile.
Encode Communication Select the Encode Communication used by the protocols.
Encrypted and selectable values switch depending on the value selected by the protocol.
Port No. Select the Port No. used by the protocols.
Port No. is set automatically according to the protocol and encode communication settings.
Target URL Enter the target URL for this profile.
CIFS character set Select the character set to use under a protocol.
Displayed only if CIFS has been selected as the protocol.
Host Kanji-Code Select the Kanji code for the host used by the protocols.
Displayed only if FTP has been selected as the protocol.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.
User Name Enter the User name for this profile.
Password Enter the Password for this profile.
File Name Enter the File Name for this profile.
Doc. Type Select the Doc. Type for this profile.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.
Removal for Background & Show-Through(sTHR)(Doc. Type) Select the Removal for Background & Show-Through(sTHR)(Doc. Type) for this profile.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.
Document Type Select the Document Type for this profile.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.
Background Removal Select the Background Removal for this profile.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.
Density Select the Density for this profile.
Resolution Select the Resolution for this profile.
Scan Size Select the Scan Size for this profile.
Contrast Select the Contrast for this profile.
Hue Select the Hue for this profile.
Saturation Select the Saturation for this profile.
R Select the R for this profile.
G Select the G for this profile.
B Select the B for this profile.
Grayscale Select the Grayscale for this profile.
File Format (Color) Select the File Format (Color) for this profile.
File Format (Grayscale) Select the File Format (Grayscale) for this profile.
Not displayed if the Grayscale is "OFF".
File Format (Mono) Select the File Format (Mono) for this profile.
Not displayed if the Grayscale is "ON".
Compression Level (Color) Select the Compression Level (Color) for this profile.
Compression Level (GrayScale) Select the Compression Level (GrayScale) for this profile.
Not displayed if the Grayscale is "OFF".
Compression Level (Mono) Select the Compression Level (Mono) for this profile.
Not displayed if the Grayscale is "ON".
Frame Erase Select the Frame Erase for this profile.
Erase Width (Frame Erase) Enter the Erase Width (Frame Erase) for this profile.
Not displayed if the Frame Erase is "OFF".
Center Erase Select the Center Erase for this profile.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.
Erase Width (Center Erase) Select the Erase Width (Center Erase) for this profile.
Not displayed if the Center Erase is "OFF".

Encrypted PDF This option configures the encryption settings for using the profile to use the PDF file.
The PDF security settings window appears when you click this button.
This may not be displayed depending on the device specifications.

The PDF security settings window configures the following:

Encrypted PDF This option selects whether or not to apply an Encrypted PDF.
You do not need to set the other options when you set OFF.
Encryption Level This option selects a PDF encryption level.
Document Open Password This option sets a Document Open Password in an Encrypted PDF.
Enter Document Open Password Enter the password you will use when you select "Enable" for the Document Open Password option.
For password confirmation, you need to enter the same password in the field requiring entering the password again.
Permissions Password This option sets the Permissions Password for an Encrypted PDF.
Enter Permissions Password Enter the password you will use when you select "Enable" for the Permissions Password option.
For password confirmation, you need to enter the same password in the field requiring entering the password again.
Permission To Print This option selects which Permission To Print actions are Permission in an Encrypted PDF.
"Low resolution (150dpi)" is not displayed when the "Low" Encryption level is selected.
Permission To Extract Text/Graphics This option selects which Permission To Extract Text/Graphics actions are Permission in an Encrypted PDF.
Permission To Edit This option selects which Permission To Edit actions are Permission in an Encrypted PDF.
"Allow to swap page" is displayed when the "Low" Encryption level is selected.
"Allow insert, delete or rotate page" is displayed when a non-"Low" Encryption level is selected.

Additional supplements
The following operations are also possible when registering and editing profiles.

  • Click the [Advanced Display] button to edit the profile in detail.
  • Even if you click the [Simple Display] button, the content set with the [Advanced Display] button is not annulled.
  • When you click the [Return to default] button, the options, except those for each of which a profile name or the like entered, are reset to the same default values as provided for adding a new configuration.
Restrictions
  • For port numbers, integers from 1 to 65535 can be used.
  • The [Encrypted PDF] button allows no settings when there are no items for which a File Format "PDF" is selected.
  • The Permission options are not displayed when you selects "Disable" for Permissions password.
  • You cannot select "Disable" for both Document open password and Permissions password.
  • You cannot enter the same password for both Document open password and Permissions password.
